Curt LaBelle, MD,MBA

Founder and Chair

Curt LaBelle, MD, MBA.  Following his dual MD/MBA degree at Columbia University, Dr. LaBelle has been investing in and working with healthcare companies for 18 years.  As the Managing Partner of the pioneering private fund, The Global Health Investment Fund, he has generated attractive financial returns while delivering life-changing therapeutics and diagnostics to the developing world for conditions such as cholera, cataract-induced blindness, snakebites, tuberculosis,  HIV, and postpartum hemorrhage. Through Global Health Funds, Dr. LaBelle is expanding the reach of the impact investing model by investing in public companies and enabling all categories of investors to participate.

Sean Ianchulev, MD, MPH

Senior advisor

Sean Ianchulev, MD, MPH.  Dr. Ianchulev holds MD and MPH degrees from Harvard Medical School and is one of the most respected and successful innovators in ophthalmology.  He has been instrumental in bringing new products to the market for glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts through WaveTec (sold to Alcon), Genentech, Transcend Medical (sold to Alcon), IanTech (sold to Zeiss), Eyenovia (Nasdaq EYEN) and others.  Dr. Ianchulev is passionate about getting innovative products to the developing world.

Susan MacDonald, MD

Senior advisor

Susan MacDonald, MD.  Dr. MacDonald is one of the country’s most experienced trainers for cataract surgery.  She has trained hundreds of U.S. physicians through her work at Tufts, and is now focused on training surgeons in low-income countries in her quest to address cataract-induced blindness.

Mark Sullivan

Mark Sullivan.  Mr. Sullivan is the CEO and Founder of Medicines Development for Global Health.  Following a distinguished career in drug development at Gilead, Mr. Sullivan turned his attention to the needs of the developing world and started MDGH to develop drugs targeting neglected diseases.  He led the efforts to get moxidectin approved for onchocerciasis (River Blindness), which could lead to the eradication of the disease.
